Letters to God #30

Deja vu
But although it seems familiar
It is something new

The desperate panic has settled
But the heaviness suffocates me
I feel buried alive
Can you see me under all this self rubble?

I have tried to dig my way out
But my own strength fails me

My enemy screams at me
That I continually fail You
That I will never be free of this tomb

But who is my enemy
if not my own self?
What is the tomb
if not my own soul?

So I cry out to You once again
Be my salvation
Come to my rescue
Deliver me from myself

Be my Hero

SELAH

Deja vu
It seems the same
Yet there is something new

This time no fear, no despair
There is hope in this grave

Although the heaviness tries to crush
You are there holding me together
Bearing the weight I can not

No longer do I cower to the darkness
But I sing in hopeful defiance

Last time You delivered me
This time no rescue
But victory!

Who is my enemy
if not Your conquered foe?
What is the tomb
if not Your birthplace of new life?

I do not cry because
You are my Salvation
My Rescuer
My Deliverer

You are my Hero
